Flache Erde und Kartenprojektionen

Zum Thema flache Erde und die Karten, die angeblich eine flache Erde zeigen

Die von wonderboy eingestellte Karte (links) wie auch alle anderen Karten, welche die Theorie einer flachen Erde unterlegen sollen, sind nichts weiter, als bekannte Projektionen von Karten, in diesen Fällen abstandstreue azimuthale Projektionen der Erde und haben nichts mit Karten zu tun, die eine flache Erde zeigen, weil diese tatsächlich flach ist. Schließlich sind alle Kartenwerke i. d. R. zweidimensional und deswegen gibt es – je nach Typus der Projektion – entsprechende Verzerrungen. Dazu ist die unten gezeigte Animation selbsterklärend:

From North to South. This sequence of images starts with the equidistant azimuthal projection onto the tangent plane at the north pole. This is gradually changed to equidistant conical projections with the standard parallel moving towards the equator. So we arrive at the equidistant cylindrical projection. As the standard parallel moves further to the south, we finally obtain the equidistant azimuthal projection onto the tangent plane in the south pole.
